1965, Siu is more popular in TV series than in films. In 2003, she was in a movie called PTU, where she acted as a police officer. Her 2 latest movies, Breaking News (in which she had a cameo role) and The Election were presented in the Cannes Film Festival. She was nominated Best Supporting Actress in the 2006 Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in The Election. The House, her first leading role in horror movie, was on screen November 2005 in Hong Kong . She had another cameo role in the 2006 Chinese Lunar New Year film, The Shopaholics. In 2005 she had two TV series aired in Hong Kong TVB Jade channel: "Healing Hands 3" and "Real Kung Fu". The first one is a famous medical drama while the in the other one she partners with famous martial art actor, Yuen Biao. She is also one of the leading actresses in a 2006 TVB grand production drama, Dance of Passion. Siu was once dating Ekin Cheng until they split up in 1999, after 8 years. The Hong Kong media blew this issue up and it became entertainment headlines. A lot of Siu's supporters did not like what Cheng had done as they believed that Maggie had sacrificed a lot for him to be successful in his career. Hong Kong singer/actress Gigi Leung, was dubbed by the media as the 3rd party - she split with Ekin in 2006. During Maggie's time with Ekin, she had slowed down her filming schedule considerably. In 2000, she came back and started filming some supporting roles in movies and TV series. She was no longer a lead as she was in the early 90s, and was relegated to supporting roles or mother roles (at the not-so-old age of mid-30s). Her career has picked up again since then, with parts in big production films and leading roles in TV Series.
