Have seen the movie today, and it's not bad. There are parts that are incredibly slow and drag on, but on the whole, it wasn't time wasted. Simon Yam and Tony Leung were good in their parts, as was Lam Suet - although that's mostly expected. Kate Tsui; she gets a 3/5 from me. Passable, but not fantastic, especially for a lead. And her character was just irritatingly unprofessional. Storyline-wise, it did move along well, and ending has a nice kind of irony to it. And I do like the way it was presented - at the end of the scenes, they'd fade out into a kind of 'surveillance' shot. Quite effective I thought. Although the whole filming from above made me dizzy at the beginning. And Maggie. Her hair suits her so much, and she is so fitting as a Madam. Screentime isn't big, but she does make a presence. The swearing is hilarious, but it is quite obvious that she is not used to it - she puts the swear words in a little forced. But only a little. And we can't fault her for that! I love the scene where they thought they had found the guy and it turned out that they didnt. She throws her hands up and says "Yiu!". And then her superior says "You have such a foul mouth, any man will be put off you". She looks at him and says "Yiu!" again - pauses, thinks, and says "Sorry sir". The movie gets about a 3.5/5 I think. ETA: I forgot to mention her nails. I read the interview with the director and he said that she looks very feminine but she is very rude. I think there was quite an emphasis put on that - the very first thing you see is her hands, beautifully painted dark maroon, extremely femme.
